soller.

Ever since 1912 the Sóller railway has been running a daily train service along the 27.3 km route between Palma de Mallorca and Sóller, without interruption.

It was a lovely day walking around town, looking at beautiful building, and eating the delicious "famous" soller gelato.  The train had amazing scenery.  The mountains were not as big as home but they were as beautiful.  The small european towns sitting in the valleys made it feel like we were back in the early 1900's.

These mountains reminded us a little of home.

Making sandwiches for lunch.

There were many tunnels along the way.

Elder Keller trying to pick a lemon off the trees.

The town was very beautiful.  It had an amazing cathederal that we all loved.

walking the streets of soller.

eating the "famous" ice cream of soller...and yes it was delicious!

sunday fun.

Last Sunday was filled with adventures.

My family stayed in their country house in Camponet for the weekend, so Sunday morning i had to wake up extra early to catch the bus at 8:15 am.  After about 20 minutes of traveling on the bus it arrived at the train station in Inca.  I took the train from Inca to Placa de Espanya, where I walked 15 minutes to the church building.  I hadn't talked to anyone the whole weekend, so I was glad when Carolyn showed up to church.  Unfortunantly Lindsey and Alicia missed the bus and where unable to make it...

So we met them in S'arenal.  It is a very touristy beach with loads of germans.  It was nice laying out and dipping our toes in the water.

After the beach the missionaries invited us over to Debbies (a british lady from the another branch).  She was lovely and we had an amazing time chatting and making brownies.

We walked to the beach that night and sat in the sand and watched the waves.  It was a wonderful way to end an amazing day.

church.

living outside of utah...church is a journey.
but it has been a great experience.
we leave a hour before church begins and we always tend to still be late.
we have to walk for a little while. catch a bus. then walk a little while longer. until we finally arrive.
I take for granted living a block away at home and even having a car to drive.

It has been fun to get to know the missionaries especially since they are both from utah.  & good thing they are able to translate for me because I would have know idea what was being said during church.

lovely music

I love music.
especially the kind that gets your body moving.
& thats exactly what music of the mediterreanan does.
It was a lovely night with lovely girls.
we walked around the cathederal.
had fun sitting in the wrong place for a while.
(there for a min. we thought we were going to be the only ones at the concert.)
But when we finally found the right place to listen,
we all moved our hips a little and had a good time.

waiting at the bus stop.
walking around the cathederal.
I loved how amazing the cathederal looked up close.
the beautiful cathederal at night.
reflection pond in front of the cathederal.
The lovely band.
the 3amigas enjoying our night.

gelato.

We are always craving gelato.
So we decided to get a box of it at the market.
Lindsey Carolyn, and I then walked to the harbor and ate on the board walk.
It was delicious, cheap, and plenty to go around.

Gelato outing equals success.

another life time.

i love to read.
especially on the beach.
my imagination runs wild.
i can picture myself in the book.
how would I react?
what would I do?

i love opening my mind to a new world.
going back in time, heading into the future.
it is all exciting.

country house.

This last weekend the fam and I went to their country house. It is more or less right in the middle of the island. I love that the view of the sea is seen from the back balcony.

We went to the park, played soccer, and tried to play card games but these children dont know how to survive with out electronics.  It was a lovely evening spending it with the family. we walked down the narrow streets to the plaza where everyone is conversing and having a good time.  We found galato (of course) and sat and enjoyed the night.

This is Juan balancing on the wall at the park.

Alis saw this door handle on our walk around town and was so excited that is had a smiley face.

The front of the country house.

This was a nice break for me, since they we were on the go all day.

The pretty dinning area, which was decorated with the original furniture from many years ago.

The room I stayed in, also with the furniture the was originally there when the grandma of the family was a little girl.
