church.

living outside of utah...church is a journey.
but it has been a great experience.
we leave a hour before church begins and we always tend to still be late.
we have to walk for a little while. catch a bus. then walk a little while longer. until we finally arrive.
I take for granted living a block away at home and even having a car to drive.

It has been fun to get to know the missionaries especially since they are both from utah.  & good thing they are able to translate for me because I would have know idea what was being said during church.

lovely music

I love music.
especially the kind that gets your body moving.
& thats exactly what music of the mediterreanan does.
It was a lovely night with lovely girls.
we walked around the cathederal.
had fun sitting in the wrong place for a while.
(there for a min. we thought we were going to be the only ones at the concert.)
But when we finally found the right place to listen,
we all moved our hips a little and had a good time.

waiting at the bus stop.
walking around the cathederal.
I loved how amazing the cathederal looked up close.
the beautiful cathederal at night.
reflection pond in front of the cathederal.
The lovely band.
the 3amigas enjoying our night.

gelato.

We are always craving gelato.
So we decided to get a box of it at the market.
Lindsey Carolyn, and I then walked to the harbor and ate on the board walk.
It was delicious, cheap, and plenty to go around.

Gelato outing equals success.

another life time.

i love to read.
especially on the beach.
my imagination runs wild.
i can picture myself in the book.
how would I react?
what would I do?

i love opening my mind to a new world.
going back in time, heading into the future.
it is all exciting.

country house.

This last weekend the fam and I went to their country house. It is more or less right in the middle of the island. I love that the view of the sea is seen from the back balcony.

We went to the park, played soccer, and tried to play card games but these children dont know how to survive with out electronics.  It was a lovely evening spending it with the family. we walked down the narrow streets to the plaza where everyone is conversing and having a good time.  We found galato (of course) and sat and enjoyed the night.

This is Juan balancing on the wall at the park.

Alis saw this door handle on our walk around town and was so excited that is had a smiley face.

The front of the country house.

This was a nice break for me, since they we were on the go all day.

The pretty dinning area, which was decorated with the original furniture from many years ago.

The room I stayed in, also with the furniture the was originally there when the grandma of the family was a little girl.

Everyday

Everyday is starting to mold together.
I have to look at the date a couple times to even realize what today is...Wednesday.
As time feels like it is standing still, time is passing by quickly.
These three weeks have seemed to come and gone.
I hope to saver the next weeks to come because even though I will be very excited to come home, i want to remember everything.
The feeling (good&bad), the smells, the sounds, the taste of the food, and the scenery that is in front of me and the ablitity to take physical and mental pictures to help me remember.

Here a few physical pictures I have taken along the way...

[second week in july]

Exploring a new place is always amazing when you discover a new beautiful park.

While wondering through the lush greenery we found this odd/cool looking tree.
Side note: Good thing we dont have these in Utah...climbing trees would be impossible.

We are always intrigued by the lovely doors everywhere in this town.

life in españa,

Some days are good.
Some days are not so good.
Taking care of kids means everyday cant be perfect,
but all around I am experiencing things I would have never seen.
I love that I can grow and be inspired by the beauty of another country.

 But as the song goes...
"Day turns to night, night turns to whatever we want
We're young evough to say
Oh this has gotta be a good life"

days.

The Mediterranean sea is beautiful and i love being about to walk to the beach from where I live.

On Sunday Alicia came to Palma, so we decided to go to the beach all together while she was here for the afternoon. We ate lunch on the grass in front of the beautiful catheral and then headed to the beach for a must need rest. We walked around Palma and got gelato before we headed home for the afternoon.

As the week started again Lindsey and I were back to watching the children and teaching them English.  Juan has soccer camp this week, so I only have Alice most the day.  We practice English in the morning and than we always meet Lindsey, Martita, and Alicia at the grandparents next to afterwards to go swimming. That is pretty much what we do everyday because it is very hot and humid.

Alice, Alicia, and Martita always having fun swimming and playing together.

Strolling Around Town.

It was a lovely day to get together with my amigas and explore the town of Palma together. Mallorca is a beautiful place and has an "old town" where it is surrounded by wall because the water line used to come far in land many many years ago.

Alicia came into town for the day, so we took the opportunity to have some fun together and this is how our day went....

We first went down to the Mediteranean Sea and walked along the beach.

Then we got on the bus and rode into the town and walked over to the big wall.
A little side note: while we were on the bus about a foot away from me a group of kids started to fight.  I pretty much ended up on Lindsey's lap next to the window.  It was pretty freaky.

We laughed, talked and took pictures of many things.

We loved the buildings and colors every street we walked down.

We loved little back street and the balcony's.

We stopped at a little resteraunt and ate Topas.

Now that we werent hungry anymore, we continued our journey on to the catherdrial.

The view was very pretty, so we decided to sit and enjoyed the beautiful view for a while.

And of course we couldn't end our night without gelato, so we stopped and got some yummy gelato before we all departed ways.

Lindsey and I arrived at the bus stop at 10:45pm thinking that a bus will be there any minute. Unknown to our knowledge there wasnt going to be a bus 46 for the rest of the night.  At about midnight lindsey and i just decided to get on another bus that would take us half way, but we still had to hike up the hill to where our houses where.  We ended up doing that and arrived a little while after midnight.  We were just glad to get home on our own because we didnt want to end up calling someone again.

I hope that is our last night that we will struggle with the bus system here in Mallorca.

Adios.
